Rohan Ahuja of Sharada Mandir School with 8.5 points out of 9 rounds emerged the clear outright winner to claim the 2014 State Senior Chess Championship title held at the International Center, Dona Paula. With three consecutive State Championship titles from 2012-2014 and remaining unbeaten throughout, Rohan earns the right to retain the Smt. Hirabai V. Salgaokar Rolling trophy permanently.

 Goan player WIM Ivana Furtado played fabulously to Earn her second WGM Norm in the 10 round International Open Grand Masters Tournament held at Kolkata.

She played with 2 GM's, 3 IM's, 1WGM, and 1FM (7titled players) and 3 untitled players in all having a rating average of 2368 which indicates how strong the opposition was she scored 4wins, 3draws and 3 loses which accounted for 5.5/10 points
